Vestur - Branding, Case Study

Vestur is a small, independently owned and thoughtfully curated online store offering handmade products from artisan makers.

Vestur delivers a seamless experience, helping users find beautiful, handcrafted products from independent and emerging designers and artists through a simple, easy to navigate website.

I worked with a limited color scheme and minimal design to allow the Vestur brand the ability to showcase products that stand on their own, and not detract from the customer experience. The wordmark is clean and minimal with a slight edge added through the distortion of the letter U. While also adding visual interest, it subtly calls attention to the uniqueness of the name and pronunciation, without needing to use any technical accent marks.

The founders wanted the first impression of their brand to represent the experience without getting in the way. The brand needed to be clean, minimal and subtle. There was also a need for the visual brand to help foster relationships with other creatives and independent producers, so the instead of taking the brand in an overly minimal direction, it was important to add distinct visual interest within the workmark and supporting marks.
