Surfing the Dream: Logo Design Case Study

I was approached to design a logo and brand identity for Kim Kepich, owner of Surfing the Dream - a surf school located in New Jersey. 

The goal was to create a logo that was on-trend with today's surf industry, fun, modern and gender neutral, to encourage men and women to learn how to surf with Kim. 

After exploring a hand full of hand-drawn logo concepts, we went with a simple wordmark, mixing a structured font and a bold script. I had fun with the color scheme, and aimed for something between a vintage lifeguard vibe and a New England yacht club.
